ADA La Plata Sand

ADA La Plata Sand is a fine-grain, naturally sourced silver-white sand developed by ADA specifically as a complementary foreground and path substrate for use alongside Aqua Soil in Nature Aquarium compositions. Its bright, reflective white-silver colour provides sharp visual contrast against the dark brown-black of Aqua Soil, guiding the viewer's eye along substrate paths and foreground areas to create depth and compositional flow.

La Plata Sand is inert and pH neutral — it does not leach minerals, alter water chemistry, or release any compounds that could affect fish or plant health. It is also exceptionally fine-grained, creating a smooth, consistent surface that suits both Corydoras catfish and shrimp that sift and forage through the substrate.

In ADA-style layouts, La Plata Sand is typically placed after the aqua soil is shaped, using dividers or careful hand placement to create clean, defined boundaries between the soil planting zones and sand path areas. It can also be used as a complete foreground substrate over a thin nutrient base layer.
