Air Stone – Disc 5cm

The 5cm ceramic disc air stone is one of the most popular air diffusers for freshwater aquariums. Its flat disc shape sits discreetly on the substrate and produces a broad, even sheet of micro-bubbles that rises through the water column, efficiently exchanging CO2 at the surface and increasing dissolved oxygen throughout the tank.

Ceramic construction produces smaller, denser bubbles than plastic air stones, resulting in more efficient gas exchange and a more aesthetically pleasing appearance. The disc can be buried slightly in gravel to conceal it, or placed under a decoration for a natural-looking bubble effect.

Air stones degrade over time as pores become blocked with mineral deposits and biofilm; soaking periodically in a dilute white vinegar solution restores output and extends service life.
