Albino Bronze Cory

The Albino Bronze Cory is a selectively bred colour morph of Corydoras aeneus, the most widely kept cory in the hobby. Its pink-white body and vivid red eyes result from a lack of melanin pigmentation, yet it retains all the hardiness and adaptability that makes the species so popular. Aquaculture-raised specimens are extremely robust and make an excellent first cory for newcomers.

Like all Corydoras, this species is a social bottom-dweller that must be kept in groups of at least six. It spends most of its day sifting through the substrate for morsels of food, using its sensitive barbels to detect buried particles. A soft, fine substrate such as sand or smooth gravel is essential to protect those barbels from damage.

The Albino Bronze Cory is completely peaceful and can be combined with virtually any non-aggressive tankmate. It readily accepts a wide diet of sinking pellets, frozen bloodworm, Daphnia, and micro-wafers. Regular partial water changes and a well-filtered, oxygenated tank are the keys to long-term success with this species.
