Ammonia Test Kit

The Ammonia Test Kit uses a two-part liquid reagent system based on the salicylate method to detect total ammonia nitrogen (TAN) across a 0–8 ppm range. Ammonia is the primary waste product of fish metabolism and the most immediately lethal water quality parameter; even 0.25 ppm of free ammonia can cause gill damage and systemic stress.

The kit distinguishes multiple concentration steps between 0 and 0.25 ppm, where sensitivity is most critical, and scales through 0.5, 1, 2, 4, and 8 ppm for high-load scenarios. Each test takes approximately five minutes to develop and includes instructions for interpreting results at different temperatures and pH values, which affect the proportion of toxic free ammonia.

Suitable for freshwater and marine aquariums. Essential kit for new aquarium cycling, disease treatment periods, and high-density stocking situations.
