API Nitrate Test Kit

The API Nitrate Test Kit measures nitrate levels from 0 to 160 ppm in freshwater aquariums, providing a key indicator of overall biological filtration efficiency and water change frequency. Unlike ammonia and nitrite, nitrate is far less acutely toxic but accumulates over time, stressing fish and fueling nuisance algae growth. This kit uses a two-part liquid reagent and delivers approximately 90 tests. The test requires a vigorous shake of reagent bottle #2 for accurate results, a step clearly described in the instructions.
