API Nitrite Test Kit

The API Nitrite Test Kit measures nitrite concentrations between 0 and 5 ppm in freshwater aquariums using an accurate liquid reagent method. Nitrite is produced during the cycling process and, even at low concentrations, can cause 'brown blood disease' in fish by impairing oxygen transport. This kit includes reagent for approximately 180 tests, providing excellent value for ongoing cycle monitoring. Results are read by comparing the sample color against the included laminated color chart. Regular nitrite testing is especially important when adding new fish to a maturing tank or when using ammonia-removing products that may mask true cycle progress.
