Sized for standard 90cm aquariums, this 5mm closed-cell EVA foam mat sits between the tank base and the stand top to create a uniform and fully supported seating surface. Even stands with a perfectly flat top will have micro-imperfections that concentrate stress on specific points of the tank glass; the foam mat eliminates this by conforming to both surfaces and distributing load evenly. The closed-cell construction means the mat does not soak up water, preventing mould growth and mat degradation over years of use. Trimming with scissors to fine-tune the fit is straightforward. This mat is particularly recommended when using rimless aquariums on metal stands, where the stand top rails may not provide a continuously flat surface.
