Base Layer Substrate Powder (3L)

Base layer substrate powder is a finely milled nutrient concentrate intended exclusively for use as the lowest layer of a multi-layer planted tank substrate system. Its composition combines dried organic matter, humic acid compounds, volcanic mineral dust, and chelated micronutrients in a homogeneous powder that distributes evenly across the tank floor.

When capped with 5–8 cm of inert sand, gravel, or aquasoil, the powder feeds root systems from below while remaining invisible to the viewer. This approach keeps the water column free from nutrient loading during setup and provides a long-lasting fertility reserve. One 3-litre bag is sufficient for a 60 × 30 cm tank base at the recommended 1–2 cm application depth.
