Bio-Active Planted Substrate (5L)

Bio-active planted substrate takes nutrient-rich planted soil a step further by pre-inoculating the substrate with cultivated communities of beneficial bacteria, fungi, and mycorrhizal compounds before packaging. This living substrate establishes a functioning root-zone microbiome within days of installation rather than the weeks it takes for uninoculated substrates to develop naturally.

The microbial community enhances nutrient cycling in the root zone, breaks down organic waste before it becomes harmful, and forms symbiotic relationships with plant roots that significantly improve nutrient uptake efficiency. Plants established in bio-active substrate consistently show faster initial growth and reduced transplant shock compared to plants placed in sterile or inert substrates. The 5-litre volume is sufficient for a standard 60–80 litre planted tank.
