Blue Tiger Shrimp

The Blue Tiger Shrimp is one of the most well-known intermediate Caridina varieties, displaying a vivid blue base colouration overlaid with the characteristic darker tiger-stripe bands that give it its name. The intensity of the blue can range from pale sky-blue to deep cobalt depending on the specific line and the individual specimen's condition.

The Blue Tiger requires moderately soft and mildly acidic water — less demanding than crystal bee shrimp but more sensitive than Neocaridina. It can often be maintained in quality tap water that has been softened, making it accessible to hobbyists with appropriate water treatment equipment but without a full RO setup.

Blue Tigers are active, inquisitive shrimp that explore all areas of the aquarium throughout the day. They breed readily when conditions are right and produce attractive offspring with varying degrees of blue intensity.
