Bolbitis sp. 'Mini'

Bolbitis sp. 'Mini' is one of the smallest Bolbitis forms available in the hobby, prized for its petite stature and intricately lobed fronds that rarely exceed 8–12 cm in height. Its compact rhizome and diminutive fronds make it an outstanding choice for nano tanks, pico aquascapes, and the foreground zones of larger nature-style layouts where a miniature fern silhouette is desired. The fronds are dark green and slightly translucent, echoing the classic Bolbitis aesthetic in miniature form.

Despite its small size it shares the same fundamental requirements as larger Bolbitis species: clean, well-oxygenated water, moderate flow, and attachment to hardscape. It is perhaps the most delicate Bolbitis in cultivation and is sensitive to poor water quality. Frequent small water changes and careful liquid fertilisation are recommended. It grows exceptionally slowly, but its unique miniature form and longevity make it a highly valued specialty plant.
