Campylomormyrus rhynchophorus is found in the Congo River and its affluents and is one of the most morphologically extreme members of the Mormyridae. Its long, strongly curved rostral organ is used to extract invertebrates from narrow rock crevices in fast-flowing riffle zones. It is rare in the hobby and commands significant interest from mormyrid specialists.
