The Breeding Trap Tank 10L incorporates an internal trap chamber — a slotted or mesh-sided compartment that allows newly dropped fry or hatched eggs to fall through into a protected lower zone inaccessible to the parent fish. This design is particularly effective for livebearers such as guppies, mollies, and platies, where the mother can be separated from her own cannibalistic instincts after birth.

The 10-litre volume provides enough water to house the mother fish comfortably during the birthing period without the stress of overcrowding in an undersized trap. After fry are collected, the trap chamber serves as a safe grow-out zone for the first one to two weeks of life. Gentle sponge filtration and a small heater maintain stable conditions, and the small tank size means water changes and feeding are quick and targeted.
