Bubble Disc Airstone 5cm

The Bubble Disc Airstone 5cm features a flat disc profile that sits close to the substrate, making it far less visually obtrusive than upright round or bar airstones. The wide flat diffusion surface produces an exceptionally dense column of micro-bubbles that rise tightly together, maximising oxygen transfer efficiency while creating a beautiful vertical bubble column effect popular in planted and display aquariums.

The disc format is popular in aquascaping where a low-profile aerator is needed that does not protrude above the foreground planting. It can be tucked behind rockwork or driftwood, partially hidden in a planted area, or used as a centrepiece in minimalist setups. The micro-bubble output is also widely valued in shrimp tanks where increased surface oxygenation is beneficial without strong current.

The 5cm diameter requires moderate pump pressure to produce the characteristic micro-bubble column — typically 2–4L/min is ideal. The central inlet barb connects to standard airline tubing, and the flat base can be weighted with a small stone or attached to the substrate via a suction cup holder.
