Bucephalandra 'Biblis'

Bucephalandra 'Biblis' is distinguished by a surface detail unique in the genus — scattered iridescent spots of intense blue distributed across the velvety dark-green leaf surface, resembling dewdrops or fragments of blue sky reflected on dark water. This spotted iridescence pattern differs from the full-surface shimmer of most Bucephalandra varieties and creates an exceptional close-up viewing experience.

The velvet-like texture of the leaf surface combined with the deep dark-green base colour and blue spotting makes 'Biblis' a plant most appreciated in nano aquariums where the viewer can experience its detail up close. In larger tanks it is best placed in the foreground where the spotted surface is visible to the observer.

Care requirements are typical for the genus with a slight preference for good CO2 levels and soft water to maintain the richness of the dark leaf colour and the intensity of the blue spots. Without CO2 and adequate light the leaves can become somewhat pale and the iridescent spots lose their vivid contrast against the base colour.
