Bucephalandra 'Black Centipede'

Bucephalandra 'Black Centipede' is one of the most structurally unusual Bucephalandra cultivars, characterised by very narrow, dark leaves arranged in a distinctive alternating pattern along a repeatedly branching, segmented rhizome that creates the visual impression of a large, elegant centipede creeping across the aquascape surface. This growth pattern is entirely natural and consistently reproduced.

The individual leaves are narrow and very dark — nearly black in strong light — with a subtle iridescent edge sheen that catches light along the leaf margins. The overall effect when the plant is established across a rock surface is remarkable: a complex, organic pattern of dark, jewel-edged foliage radiating from a central attachment point.

'Black Centipede' is a slow-growing collector variety best suited to aquascapers prepared to invest time in its development.
