Bucephalandra 'Isabella'

Bucephalandra 'Isabella' is one of the more softly beautiful cultivars in the genus, lacking the dramatic near-black colouration of the Brownie group or the intense electric blue of 'Theia', instead offering an understated elegance of soft-green, slightly undulated leaves with a gentle, consistent iridescent shimmer. The name suggests a feminine grace that the plant genuinely embodies in appearance.

Its smaller stature — typically reaching only 4–10 cm — and refined proportions make it ideal for nano aquascaping where a more delicate aesthetic is desired. It integrates seamlessly with fine mosses, miniature ferns, and small epiphytic Anubias without overwhelming or competing visually.

Care requirements are typical for the genus: soft water preferred, CO2 beneficial, medium light recommended for full iridescence expression. It adapts more graciously to low-tech conditions than the premium dark cultivars, making it accessible to a wider range of aquascapers. A excellent entry point into named Bucephalandra cultivars.
