Bucephalandra sp. 'Green Wavy'

Bucephalandra sp. 'Green Wavy' combines two attractive traits in a single plant: the characteristic undulating or wavy leaf margins of the 'Wavy Leaf' type with a distinctly brighter, more saturated emerald-green iridescence that differs from the deeper, darker tones of most collector Bucephalandra. The leaves are medium-sized at 3–5 cm, the margins are clearly undulated, and the iridescent sheen has a fresh, vivid quality that makes the plant appear luminous under aquarium lighting.

This variety is regarded as somewhat easier and more adaptable than the darker, rare Bucephalandra forms, making it an excellent bridge variety for aquascapers transitioning from Anubias to the broader world of Bucephalandra. It tolerates moderate hardness somewhat better than the most sensitive forms and grows at a reasonable pace with CO2 supplementation. The bright-green iridescence is particularly attractive in nature aquascapes where it contrasts with the darker colouration of Anubias or Java fern.
