Bucephalandra sp. 'Kedagang'

Bucephalandra sp. 'Kedagang' is sourced from the Kedagang area of Borneo and is one of the most strikingly iridescent Bucephalandra varieties in cultivation. The leaves are broadly ovate to rounded, mid-to-deep green, with an intense blue or teal iridescence that is among the strongest in the genus. Under full-spectrum LED lighting the blue sheen can appear almost metallic, giving individual leaves an extraordinary jewel-like quality. Leaves reach 3–5 cm and are produced on a steadily creeping rhizome.

This variety is regarded as intermediate in difficulty — slightly more demanding than common Anubias or Java ferns but easier than the most sensitive Bucephalandra types. It performs best in soft, slightly acidic water with CO2 supplementation and consistent fertilisation. Once established in stable conditions it grows steadily and develops into a spectacular display specimen. It is particularly popular for aquascaping competitions and high-end planted displays.
