Bucephalandra sp. 'Sekadau 2'

Bucephalandra sp. 'Sekadau 2' represents a second, distinct colour and morphological form from the Sekadau River drainage of Borneo, differing from 'Sekadau 1' in having broader, more rounded leaf blades with more pronounced and densely distributed white spots. The leaves are typically darker green and the iridescent sheen is more silvery than blue. It is a similarly slow grower, producing leaves on a creeping rhizome that rarely exceeds a few centimetres per month.

The distinct spotting pattern on 'Sekadau 2' makes it particularly striking under aquarium lighting, and it is widely collected as a display and breeding plant. Care requirements are identical to other Bucephalandra varieties — soft, acidic water, attachment to hardscape, and the option of CO2 supplementation for better results. It pairs beautifully with 'Sekadau 1' and other Bucephalandra varieties in curated epiphyte displays on natural driftwood arrangements.
