Bucephalandra sp. 'Simpit'

Bucephalandra sp. 'Simpit' is named after its locality of collection in Borneo and is distinguished by particularly narrow, lanceolate leaf blades with a crisp, defined midrib and clean green colouration with a blue-green iridescent overlay. The slim leaf shape gives this variety a refined, architectural quality that sets it apart from the broader-leaved Bucephalandra varieties, and it creates an excellent textural contrast when combined with round-leaved or broad-leaved types.

This variety is a slow-growing epiphyte that thrives on driftwood or smooth rocks in soft, acidic water. Like all Bucephalandra, it is sensitive to extremes of water hardness and prefers conditions mimicking its native Bornean forest streams — low GH, low KH, and slightly warm temperatures. CO2 supplementation is strongly beneficial for achieving the best leaf expression and a consistent growth rate. It is a well-regarded variety among Bucephalandra collectors for its clean, uncluttered leaf form.
