Cabomba aquatica

Cabomba aquatica, known as Yellow Cabomba, is a South American fanwort species that produces particularly finely divided leaves with a warm golden-green to chartreuse colouration. It is visually similar to C. caroliniana but with more delicate foliage and higher care requirements, demanding brighter light and softer, more acidic water to maintain its lush, feathery appearance.

Without sufficient light the plant quickly becomes sparse and loses its fan-like leaf structure. CO2 injection is recommended to support healthy growth. It prefers soft, slightly acidic water and is less tolerant of hard, alkaline tap water than the standard green Cabomba.

A beautiful and delicate background plant that rewards the slightly increased care requirements with a warm, golden-green colouration that is distinct from other feathery-textured aquarium plants. Best used in medium to large tanks with good circulation.
