Caridina babaulti Green Shrimp

The green morph of Caridina babaulti is native to freshwater streams and rice paddies of India and Southeast Asia. Its vivid olive-to-emerald green coloration is entirely natural and unmodified, making it a refreshing alternative to selectively bred shrimp for hobbyists who appreciate wild-type color. Compared to fancy Caridina like Crystal Reds, C. babaulti is considerably more adaptable, tolerating moderate water hardness and a wider pH range. They are active biofilm and algae grazers, and their green coloration pairs beautifully with red or dark substrates in planted aquariums. A robust, prolific species well-suited to intermediate and beginner shrimp keepers.
