Cichlid Crushed Coral Substrate (5kg)

Cichlid crushed coral substrate is purpose-formulated for African cichlid tanks, providing a passive and continuous source of calcium carbonate to buffer pH into the alkaline range of 7.8–8.5 required by Malawi, Tanganyika, and Victoria cichlid species. Unlike chemical additives, the substrate works around the clock, counteracting any natural tendency for pH to drift downward between water changes.

The medium crushed particle size allows water to flow freely through the substrate while dissolving slowly enough to provide steady long-term buffering. The bright white colouration brightens the aquarium interior and serves as an ideal backdrop for the vivid blues, yellows, and oranges of African cichlids. A 5-kilogram bag covers a standard 80-litre cichlid tank at 4 cm depth.
