CO2 Check Valve

A CO2 check valve is a small but critical safety component in any pressurised or DIY CO2 system. When CO2 pressure drops — such as when the cylinder is changed, the solenoid closes, or the system is shut down — negative pressure can draw aquarium water back through the CO2 tubing toward the regulator. This back-siphon can damage the needle valve seat, solenoid coil, and regulator diaphragm, causing expensive failures. This compact inline check valve contains a spring-loaded or flap mechanism that allows CO2 to flow toward the diffuser but prevents any reverse flow of liquid or gas. It installs in seconds inline on the CO2 tubing via standard 4mm barbed fittings, ideally positioned just before the diffuser inlet.
