Conditioning Salt for Spawning

Conditioning Salt for Spawning is a carefully formulated blend of calcium, magnesium, and sodium salts that replicates the mineral profile of naturally hard or slightly brackish water. Many livebearers, certain killifish, and some gobies respond strongly to an increase in dissolved mineral content as a spawning trigger, associating it with the seasonal shift that precedes reproduction in their native habitats.

The product dissolves readily in aquarium water and raises GH, KH, and TDS without dramatically altering pH. It is particularly useful in soft tap-water areas where the mineral content is insufficient to condition species that require harder conditions. It can also be used to condition livebearer females after birthing to replenish electrolytes. The 200g bag treats approximately 800 litres at standard dosing.
