Controsoil Brown

Controsoil Brown is a premium-grade Japanese aqua soil characterised by its warm natural brown granule colouration, which mirrors the look of nutrient-rich tropical river sediments. Developed in Taiwan and highly popular across the Asian aquascaping scene, Controsoil has earned a reputation for consistent quality, stable pH performance, and a long nutrient-active lifecycle that rivals ADA Aqua Soil.

The substrate actively lowers pH to the 6.0–6.8 range and reduces water hardness, creating the soft, slightly acidic environment preferred by most tropical aquatic plants and fish. Its granule size is consistent and moderately fine, allowing clean planting of both large stem plants and delicate carpeting species without excessive disturbance to neighbouring planting positions.

Controsoil Brown's warm tone distinguishes it from black aqua soils and suits aquascapers who want to create compositions with an earthy, natural colour palette.
