Copper Test Kit

The Copper Test Kit uses a selective colorimetric reagent to detect total dissolved copper with a resolution starting at 0.05 ppm — well below the threshold toxic to most invertebrates. Copper enters aquariums as a byproduct of some medications, from copper plumbing in household water supplies, and from certain decorative items.

For reef aquarists using copper-based ich medications in a separate hospital tank, precise copper monitoring is essential to maintain therapeutic levels (0.15–0.35 ppm free copper) without exceeding the acute toxicity threshold for fish. The same test confirms copper has cleared to safe levels before reintroducing invertebrates.

The kit resolves concentrations at 0, 0.05, 0.15, 0.25, 0.5, 1, 2, and 4 ppm. Full colour development takes 3 minutes. Compatible with freshwater and marine samples.
