Cryptocoryne ferruginea

Cryptocoryne ferruginea is native to the peat-stained rivers of Borneo (Sarawak and Kalimantan), where it grows in shallow, soft, highly acidic water under dense forest canopy. Its narrow, lance-shaped leaves are mottled with rust-brown, copper, and olive-green tones that give the plant an almost painterly appearance — particularly striking under warm aquarium lighting. It is moderately demanding and performs best in established tanks with soft, acidic water that mirrors its natural blackwater environment.
