Cryptocoryne lingua

Cryptocoryne lingua is an unusual and rarely seen species from Borneo, notable for producing small, spoon-shaped or tongue-shaped leaves that grow nearly flat along the substrate on long, slender petioles. It is one of the most morphologically distinct Crypts, growing in brackish to freshwater habitats along the Bornean coast. In the aquarium it forms curious, low, spreading colonies under low light, making it a conversation piece for dedicated Crypt enthusiasts. It is slow-growing and benefits from a fine, nutrient-rich substrate.
