Cryptocoryne pygmaea

Cryptocoryne pygmaea is among the tiniest species in the entire Cryptocoryne genus, native to the Philippines. It produces very small, narrow, lance-shaped leaves in light to medium green, rarely exceeding 8 cm in height. This miniature stature makes it highly prized for nano aquariums and as a foreground accent in larger scapes where fine-textured, low-growing plants are needed. Despite its small size, it is not especially fragile and adapts to a range of soft water conditions. It grows slowly but spreads by runners to form a delicate carpet-like colony over time.
