Cryptocoryne yujii

Cryptocoryne yujii is among the most recently described and rarest Cryptocoryne species in cultivation. It was named in honour of Dr. Yuji Sasaki, a pioneering Japanese researcher who devoted decades to studying the genus. Endemic to Borneo, it produces narrow, elongated leaves with a characteristic hammered texture in dark, rich green. In the aquarium, it is slow-growing and demands stable, soft, slightly acidic water conditions. Disturbance should be minimised once it is established. Its extreme rarity in cultivation means that finding and keeping this plant successfully is a mark of distinction among Cryptocoryne specialists. Treat it with the care its status deserves.
