Danio kyathit Longfin

The Longfin form of Danio kyathit, the Ocelot Danio, features dramatically elongated fins that transform an already attractive species into a genuinely striking aquarium fish. Danio kyathit originates from northern Myanmar and is characterised by a variable pattern of spots and horizontal dashes that can resemble an ocelot's coat under certain light. The longfin morph extends the dorsal, caudal, and other fins considerably, producing a veil-like appearance that shows best in calm, clear water. Because of the extended finnage, current should be gentle and fin-nipping tankmates must be excluded. Care otherwise parallels standard Danio kyathit: clean, moderately cool water, groups of six or more, and a varied diet of flakes, pellets, and frozen foods.
