Danio quagga Gold

The Gold form of Danio quagga is a captive-selected variant of the Quagga Danio, presenting a warm golden-yellow base colouration over which a reduced number of horizontal stripes are overlaid. Danio quagga itself closely resembles the zebrafish but is a distinct species with a different stripe count and distribution. The Gold morph intensifies the yellow-gold background of the lateral iridescence while partially suppressing the blue pigment. It retains all the hardiness and easy care of the zebrafish group and is suitable for beginners. Groups of six or more school actively throughout the midwater. It is unfussy about water chemistry within a reasonable range and accepts virtually all small aquarium foods. An attractive and vigorous alternative to the standard Gold Zebrafish for the planted community tank.
