Danio tinwini Longfin

The Longfin form of Danio tinwini, the Gold Ring Danio, elevates an already charming nano species into a genuine planted-tank showpiece. Danio tinwini is native to the Ayeyarwady drainage of Myanmar and displays a highly distinctive pattern of dark spots arranged in rings or broken dashes along the flanks, quite unlike the stripes of most danios. In the longfin morph these markings remain fully expressed while the dorsal, caudal, and anal fins are dramatically elongated into flowing veils. The resulting fish is among the most elegant nano danios available. Care requires attention to flow rate — gentle is essential — and all fin-nipping species must be excluded. The tank should be planted, with a dark substrate to make the spotted pattern pop. Diet is standard small danio fare.
