Glossolepis dicki is one of the less frequently encountered members of its genus, originating from river systems associated with the Sepik basin in Papua New Guinea. It is a medium-sized, moderately deep-bodied rainbowfish with an attractive silvery-olive base colouration. Dominant males develop vivid orange to orange-red finnage and a characteristic red flush along the upper flanks and head, making them considerably more colourful than the somewhat drab females.

This species is hardy and adaptable by Glossolepis standards and can be kept under conditions similar to other members of the genus — moderately hard, slightly alkaline water with good filtration and regular water changes. A spacious aquarium with open swimming space and some planting suits it well. Groups of one male to two or three females are recommended to distribute breeding attention.

Glossolepi dicki spawns in the typical atheriniform manner, scattering adhesive eggs among fine-leaved plants or spawning mops. Fry are moderately robust. The species is available through specialist importers and hobbyist breeders on an infrequent basis.

Orders are processed within 1-2 business days. Standard shipping typically takes 3-5 business days.
