Discus Specialist Tank Kit 200L

The Discus Specialist Tank Kit 200L is purpose-configured for one of the most rewarding but demanding fish in the hobby. Discus require stable, warm water (28–30°C), low hardness (GH 3–8), slightly acidic pH (6.0–7.0), and impeccable water quality maintained through large, frequent water changes. The kit includes a precision heater with a narrow temperature tolerance, a canister filter with biological media optimised for warm, soft water, an RO mineral buffer for preparing discus-appropriate water, and a tall-format 200L tank that suits the tall body shape of discus.

The tall format (typically 60 cm or more in height) is important for discus welfare — these deep-bodied fish are uncomfortable in shallow tanks. At 200 litres, a group of 6–8 adult discus can be housed as a peaceful colony. Tankmates should be limited to small, peaceful species such as cardinal tetras, rummy-nose tetras, and corydoras that share the soft-acidic water requirement.
