Egg Incubator Tumbler

The Egg Incubator Tumbler replicates the continuous gentle movement that parent mouthbrooders provide by tumbling eggs in their oral cavity. A slow stream of water fed from a small pump or airline enters the base of the transparent cylinder and causes the eggs to roll in a constant gentle rotation, preventing them from sitting still long enough for anaerobic conditions to develop at contact points.

This eliminates fungal infection at egg-to-egg contact zones, which is the most common cause of reduced hatch rates when artificially incubating cichlid eggs. The device is especially valuable for mouthbrooder breeders who strip eggs from females for artificial incubation, and for catfish breeders working with large egg clutches. The transparent body allows daily monitoring of embryo development. Flow rate is adjustable via a valve on the inlet line.
