Elephant Skin Stone

Elephant Skin Stone is a metamorphic rock distinguished by its remarkably lifelike folded and ridged surface texture, which closely resembles the thick, weathered hide of an elephant. This organic, flowing texture stands apart from the angular fracture lines of Seiryu or Dragon Stone, lending a more ancient, eroded quality to aquascape compositions.

The grey colouration with subtle blue undertones provides a neutral backbone that complements both warm-toned driftwood and cool-toned fine gravel substrates. It works particularly well in wabi-kusa arrangements and nature aquarium layouts where an aged, geological aesthetic is desired. Moss attaches readily to the folded surface crevices.

Elephant Skin Stone contains some calcium compounds and will gradually raise pH and KH in soft water, though more slowly than Seiryu Stone. Regular water testing is recommended when used in shrimp tanks or soft-water biotopes.
