Eriocaulon sp. 'Vietnam'

Eriocaulon sp. 'Vietnam' is among the most visually intricate aquarium plants available to dedicated collectors. The extremely fine, hair-like leaves radiate from a tight central growing point in a perfect starburst formation, creating a rosette of extraordinary delicacy and precision. Under strong lighting the vivid green of the individual hair-like leaves creates an almost luminous effect.

Like all Eriocaulon species, it is one of the most demanding plant genera in the hobby. Soft, very acidic water (pH 5.0–6.5), very high light, stable CO2 injection, and pristine water quality are all non-negotiable requirements. Organic waste accumulation, water hardness, or CO2 interruptions can cause rapid decline. Growth is very slow — expect months before a noticeable carpet develops.

A plant exclusively for experienced, technically accomplished aquascapers with established high-tech setups. When successfully maintained, it is one of the most visually captivating foreground plants in existence, particularly striking in iwagumi and Nature Aquarium-style compositions.
