The Fire Red Shrimp is a high-grade red Neocaridina davidi line sitting above standard Cherry Shrimp but below Painted Fire Red in the colour grading hierarchy. Fire Red specimens display dense, opaque red colouration extending across the entire body including legs and swimmerets, with minimal transparency remaining.

The name reflects the intensity of the red — a vivid, saturated fire-engine red rather than the semi-transparent cherry-red of lower grades. In a planted tank with dark substrate, Fire Red Shrimp create a bold, eye-catching focal point. Like all Neocaridina, they are hardy, adaptable, and breed prolifically in stable conditions.
