The Flat Substrate Heating Mat 25W provides a slightly more powerful under-tank heating solution for medium-sized aquariums and planted setups up to approximately 100 litres. The additional 10 watts over the 15W model produces a more pronounced substrate temperature differential, making it effective at inducing the gentle convective currents that benefit heavily planted Dutch and Nature aquarium layouts.

The wide mat footprint distributes heat across the entire tank base rather than concentrating warmth in a single zone. The waterproof laminated construction tolerates the humid conditions typical of aquarium cabinets without deterioration.

Regularly used by aquascapers to improve CO2 and nutrient uptake by plant roots, and by breeders who keep substrate temperature slightly higher than water column temperature to trigger spawning behaviour in certain species.
