The Fluval Nano Plant Spectrum LED is a compact clip-on light unit engineered specifically for the photosynthetic needs of aquatic plants in nano and small aquariums. The LED array combines warm and cool white channels with targeted red and blue wavelengths that align with the chlorophyll absorption peaks, maximising photosynthetic efficiency in low to moderate light plant species. The result is noticeably better plant colouration and more vigorous growth compared to general-purpose LED strips that lack the dedicated plant spectrum output.
The adjustable clip-on mount fits aquarium rims from 3 to 12 mm thick, making it compatible with a broad range of nano tank brands including Dennerle, Fluval, Aquael, and JBL. A manual dimmer wheel allows output to be reduced for low-light species, early tank cycling periods when algae control is a priority, or to simulate a gradual sunrise/sunset effect when combined with a timer plug. The light head pivots on its mount, allowing the beam to be directed at the exact zone of the aquascape requiring the most light intensity.
At 11 watts, this light produces sufficient PAR for mosses, low-light stem plants, anubias, java ferns, and cryptocorynes without supplemental CO2. For demanding carpeting plants or high-tech setups, a higher-intensity LED would be more appropriate.
