Fry Grading Nets Set

Size variation within a single cohort of fry is one of the biggest threats to fry survival. Larger, faster-growing juveniles will consume smaller siblings as soon as they are able, and even before active cannibalism begins, larger fry out-compete smaller ones for food, leading to a widening size disparity over time. Regular grading by size allows the breeder to equalise feeding and minimise aggression within each size group.

This set of three nets with mesh openings of 0.5mm, 1mm, and 2mm allows fry to be graded at multiple stages of development. The graduated mesh sizes let small fry pass through to a finer net while retaining larger individuals. The nets are made from non-abrasive nylon mesh and include short handles suitable for use over small breeding and grow-out tanks. Regular grading every 7–14 days dramatically improves average survival rates and growth uniformity.
