GSP Borneo Rivermouth Form

This Bornean river-mouth form of Dichotomyctere nigroviridis inhabits tidal estuaries where freshwater blackwater rivers meet the sea, resulting in a unique olive-dark colouration with reduced spot contrast. The blackwater influence causes a distinctive darkening of the dorsal pigment that sets this form apart from brighter-coloured inland or coastal specimens. Care follows standard D. nigroviridis protocol but this form may benefit from slightly lower salinity in the transition phase and softer water during the juvenile stage. Adults should still be maintained at full brackish parameters. This form is less commonly available than Thai or Vietnamese GSP stock and is primarily sourced from Kalimantan, Indonesia.
