GSP Mekong Delta Form

The Mekong Delta form of Dichotomyctere nigroviridis is collected from brackish tidal channels near the Vietnamese coastline and is characterised by a more yellow-green tint to the body colouration and a noticeably denser arrangement of spots compared to Thai or Malaysian specimens. This form adapts well to the aquarium but has the same adult brackish requirement as all D. nigroviridis. Juveniles present with the characteristic vivid green-and-black spotted pattern; adults develop a warmer, yellower tone. Regular snail feeding is critical at all life stages to maintain a healthy beak. This form is occasionally available from Vietnamese fish exporters and is a favourite among GSP collectors.
