Harald Schultz's Tetra

Hyphessobrycon haraldschultzi is a seldom-imported Brazilian tetra from the Araguaia-Tocantins basin in Mato Grosso and Goiás. Named in honor of the celebrated Brazilian naturalist Harald Schultz, this species presents soft pastel silver-pink tones with a mid-lateral stripe and delicate fin detail. Its understated coloration is best appreciated in a well-lit aquarium over dark substrate. A genuinely peaceful schooling fish that is well suited to species tanks or quiet community setups with other gentle mid-size tetras. Its rarity in the trade makes it a prize for collectors. It feeds readily on a variety of small prepared and frozen foods.
