Heater Guard

A heater guard is an inexpensive but important safety accessory for any tank using a submersible glass heater. Without protection, fish — particularly large cichlids, plecos, and loaches — can press against the hot heater element and suffer serious burns, while the sudden temperature shock of a cold-bodied fish touching a hot glass tube can crack the heater housing entirely.

This mesh guard encloses the heater body while maintaining full water circulation around the element for accurate temperature control. The plastic construction does not conduct heat, keeping the exterior of the guard at water temperature while the heater operates inside.

Compatible with most 100–300W heaters in the standard 25–32cm body length range. Check measurements before purchasing to ensure a secure fit.
