Heater Guard / Protector Cover

The Heater Guard / Protector Cover is a perforated plastic sleeve that slides over a standard submersible heater, creating a physical barrier between the hot glass or titanium tube and aquarium inhabitants. Large fish such as cichlids, goldfish, and plecos are notorious for resting against or bumping heaters, risking burns or cracking the glass — this guard eliminates that hazard.

The guard's open mesh design allows unimpeded water flow around the heater element, ensuring heat transfer efficiency is not compromised. Most models fit heaters from 25W up to 300W via a flexible clip or slide-on design, and the neutral black or clear colouring keeps the hardware visually unobtrusive.

An inexpensive but essential accessory for any tank housing large or clumsy fish, or where shrimp might wedge themselves against the heating element.
