Hygrophila lancea 'Araguaia'

Hygrophila lancea 'Araguaia' is a rarely encountered collection form from the Araguaia river basin in central Brazil, named after the river system where it was originally collected. It produces slender, willow-like leaves on gracefully arching stems that develop a soft pink blush under good lighting and adequate nutrition. This form grows at a moderate pace and is more compact than some other large Hygrophila species, making it suitable for medium to large planted aquariums. In the aquascape it offers an unusual combination of fine-textured leaves with subtle colour, standing out as a botanical rarity in collections that typically feature more common Hygrophila forms.
